How does automation reduce stress in the pharmacy?

Introducing an automated dispensing robot into the pharmacy brings a wide range of benefits: increased revenue, better space optimisation, and greater process efficiency — essential advantages for the pharmacy’s economic growth.

But what about the human impact? According to pharmacists, automation helps reduce stress.

That’s exactly what emerged from the survey conducted by Pharmathek among pharmacies that have installed the SINTESI robot.

THE SURVEY

Pharmathek regularly carries out satisfaction surveys on its installations to improve services based on feedback gathered directly from pharmacy owners and their staff.

Looking at the latest 200 interviews, more than half of the pharmacists reported that installing the SINTESI robot led to a better quality of work in the pharmacy, which in turn helped reduce stress for the entire team.

In response to the open-ended question “What is the most important benefit brought by the SINTESI robot?”, 52% of answers mentioned reduced stress as the main advantage, thanks to factors such as:

  • Confidence in receiving the correct medication at the counter, with the closest expiry date;
  • No longer having to search through drawers for slow-moving items;
  • Improved counter service, with more time available for patients;
  • Peace of mind from not having to leave the sales area unattended;
  • Reassurance of always having the right inventory levels;
  • Simplified warehouse management tasks.

WHAT PHARMACISTS ARE SAYING

“With SINTESI, we are 100% sure we’ll receive the exact medicine at the counter. That alone brings peace of mind.”
– Dr Carmine, pharmacist

“SINTESI allows us to stay present at the counter without leaving the sales area unattended. The peace of mind that comes from receiving medications right at my workstation is a huge advantage.”
– Dr Giulia, pharmacist

“Getting to a well-organised stock management system with SINTESI gave our entire team a real sense of calm at the counter.”
– Dr Giuseppe, pharmacy owner

CONCLUSION: automation reduces stress in the pharmacy.

This insight was particularly interesting and confirms just how much automation supports the pharmacy not only operationally but psychologically.

Today, pharmacy owners are increasingly focused on the wellbeing of their teams. Choosing to install an automated dispensing robot is not just a smart economic decision: it’s a step towards simplifying daily operations and reducing worries. And that, ultimately, means lowering stress.
