Why did you decide to install a dispensing robot in your pharmacy?
We had just come through a period marked by staff shortages and various organisational changes; in that context, the traditional drawer system and the way generics were managed had become a structural obstacle to dispensing, preventing me from guaranteeing the standard of quality that I consider essential for my patients. It was at that moment that I saw the dispensing robot as the most effective solution: an investment to make the workflow smoother, more reliable and more consistent, even during peak times.
Why did you choose Pharmathek in particular?
At Infarma, I evaluated numerous solutions, but the robust build quality, the truly impressive Pharmaload automatic loader, and the Euclid3D system were unrivalled in terms of precision and operational continuity. Furthermore, the technical discussion with the team who advised me was decisive: the clarity with which the system’s operation and benefits were explained to me convinced me to choose SINTESI for its reliability and practicality in day-to-day use.
How has work in the pharmacy changed since the installation?
The change has been brilliant, and this is our first year with the dispensing robot: before, queues would form and the volume of customers would cause us difficulties, whereas this summer I’ve noticed things running incredibly smoothly both at the counter and in the back office. I’ve retained all staff positions, and we now save around 80% of the time previously spent on organising and managing medicines, freeing up resources for more attentive, high-quality care for patients.
Do you find SINTESI easy to use?
Yes, it’s very easy and intuitive to use in day-to-day operations, from loading to dispensing, with quick and clear steps for the whole team. And if we have any queries or issues, Pharmathek’s technical support is immediately available and resolves them promptly, ensuring continuity of service. We’re always up and running.
Is the interface really intuitive?
Absolutely: the interface is simple, straightforward and guides the user, minimising the need for redundant steps. This means staff can get to grips with it quickly and use it consistently, even during the busiest times.
What is the feature most appreciated by your staff?
They are absolutely delighted that they no longer have to organise boxes, find space, restock manually or clean drawers: repetitive tasks that used to take time and energy away from patient care. Dispensing is now much faster; they don’t have to move around to find medicines, there are no doubts about dosages or generic formats, and human error is significantly reduced, leading to a marked decrease in stress.
What do you think of the Pharmaload automatic loader?
It’s marvellous: compared to other dispensing robots I’ve seen, I’d never come across a loader like this before, and it really makes a difference in day-to-day operations. Basically, you just empty the tray and the system carries on without you having to check anything in the management system, speeding up workflows and reducing the operator’s cognitive load.
And what do you think of the Connected Exits?
They’re a huge help during busy periods: they bring order and make deliveries more precise and seamless. The exits are versatile, so bottlenecks are avoided and staff at the counter can really focus on the patient, without any uncertainty.
Would you recommend Pharmathek to your colleagues?
Without a doubt: I’m very satisfied with the results achieved, the reliability of the system and the support received throughout the process. Choosing Pharmathek and the SINTESI dispensing robot has improved patient service and internal organisation, with tangible benefits already evident in the short term.
Would you like to add anything else?
Our experience with the technical, sales and marketing teams was 10 out of 10 in terms of helpfulness, expertise and attention to the pharmacy’s needs. From the start-up phase right through to day-to-day management, we felt supported at every stage, with practical and prompt assistance.
