Dr Manuela Bechelli, why did you decide to install a robot in your pharmacy in 2020?
The decision to install an automated dispensing robot came at a time of significant change for our pharmacy. In 2020, when we moved to a new, larger and more modern premises, we had the opportunity to rethink our day-to-day operations.
Our main goal was to improve the service we offer our customers by reducing waiting times and minimising errors when dispensing medicines.
How has working in the pharmacy changed since the robot was installed?
The installation of the robot has brought significant improvements, particularly in counter operations. We can now handle complex requests more quickly and accurately, such as multiple prescriptions for the same patient.
Do you find the SINTESI robot easy to use?
Yes, absolutely. The SINTESI robot is very intuitive, and all our team members can use it without difficulty. Its ease of use has allowed us to integrate it quickly into our daily work, making the entire team more independent and confident in managing stock.
According to your team, what is SINTESI’s most important feature?
The feature most appreciated by our team is its ability to speed up the handling of multiple prescriptions. This is essential for the type of customers we serve, who often bring in several prescriptions at once, sometimes as many as 15 at a time. The robot processes them quickly and efficiently, making our work considerably easier. In addition, automatic expiry date management provides continuous, accurate monitoring, ensuring the highest level of safety for both our patients and our team.
What do you think of the Pharmaload automatic loader?
It is a valuable support for our stock manager, as it makes the process of loading products much faster and more efficient. This technology allows us to further optimise stock management time, freeing up resources for other tasks and improving the overall organisation of work in the pharmacy.
This year, you connected another workstation to the SINTESI robot using the pneumatic transport system. How are you finding QuickAir?
Very well! QuickAir has proved very useful, making work easier for those operating away from the counter and the stockroom. It provides practical support that has improved internal communication and streamlined workflow between the different areas of the pharmacy.
Is the delivery of products quiet?
The noise level is perfectly acceptable and, in fact, adds an element of curiosity for customers. Hearing the system moving discreetly attracts their attention without causing a disturbance, helping create a modern, technology-driven environment that surprises and interests visitors to the pharmacy.
Based on your experience, would you recommend Pharmathek to your colleagues?
Yes, without a doubt. Pharmathek has proven to be a reliable partner, providing technological solutions that have significantly improved the efficiency and quality of our work.
Would you like to add anything else?
Yes, I would recommend installing a robot to fellow pharmacists who have not yet done so, provided they have enough space. It not only improves efficiency but also significantly reduces the risk of errors, such as dispensing the wrong medicines. It is a solution that delivers tangible benefits for both the team and patients, enhancing safety and the quality of service.
